The Trip To Alameda Beach

I went to Alameda Beach on June 14, 2010 with my classmates and teachers. We took a bus from the school and we go to the beach. I saw beautiful sight of nature there. There were trees, animals and sea. We sat under a trees because it was hot so we sat in shade. After sometime I started to play soccer with my friends. I played soccer like one hour. Then I went into the water because I was feeling very hot. Then we had our lunch and our teacher took us to an ice cream shop so that we can buy some ice cream. I bought one ice cream and then we walked to the bus stand to return back to school.

The Street Fashion in the USA.

There are a lot of people from different countries and they all have different fashions but I saw some Arabic women in the old Oakland. The women were wearing black gowns. The Arabic people call "Burka" to those clothes. Those women were covering all parts of their bodies even their hair too. We can only see their faces. I never see any other people wearing that kind of clothes in this place except Arabic. I also saw an Indian girl and she was wearing pant and shirt. She had a bag in her hand with the photo of Taj Mahal on it. I was impressed by her style because she was wearing simple but unique clothes and her bag that represents love because Taj Mahal is the symbol of love. She was looking like she is very rich and well educated. She was walking with very proud and confident. I can judge her by her attitude that she is a good lady.

The Vietnamese Culture and Food

Today, I experienced Vietnamese food and their culture. One thing I learned about this culture that they have tasty and spicy food. They have some things that are similar to my culture and some things that are different than my culture. In this field trip, I see that they eat egg rolls and spicy chicken.
This is similer to my culture because in my culture people also eat eggrolls and spicy food especially spicy chicken. I also heard that they speak Vietnamese language that is different than my culture because I speak different language and I can't understand their language. If we talk about my reaction about this culture then it is definately good. I felt very happy by eating Vietnamese food. I liked it a lot because it was spicy and tasty. I would like to eat Vietnamese food again with my friends.

The Mural Art in Mission District

Today, I saw a mural in San Francisco. It was in the Mission District. This mural showed the country of El Salvador. The mural had Orange and Yellow colour. It was a big mural on a big wall. This mural shows about the past and the present of El Salvador. It was about the war that took place in El Salvador long time ago. In the artwork you can see a lady in the present and in the past which I believe represents her sorrows during the war. She was remembering her past. She was in a bad condition. She had a letter in her hand for her husband who was a soldier and fighting in the war. I also see in the artwork that some men were sitting in a bar which I believe represents their life during the war. They were remembering their life during the war that was different than today's life. I felt very bad when I understand what this mural represents. I liked it a lot. I would definitely want it on the wall of my house so that I can show people that war is bad. I am happy that it is in this community because it helps people to understand that war is the worst thing in the world.

The Albany Bowling Day

I went to Albany Bowl for bowling on Friday June 10th, 2010. I went with my classmates and with my teachers. First, we took a bus to reach San Pablo Street. Then we took another bus to reach Albany Bowl. It took 25 minutes to reach at Albany Bowl from school. I have been there a lot of times because I like bowling. When we entered Albany Bowl our teachers bought tickets for everyone. Then we exchanged our shoes because the floor was slippery and they gave us shoes that will help us to stick on the floor. Then we started the fun game of bowling. Our teachers divided us into groups so that we can play easily. I had four members in my group and we started to play. We played two rounds and I just won one round. It was fun there. Then I played some arcade games. After two hours our teachers took us into a park to write in our journals. If you don't want to spend a lot of money but you want to have a lot of fun then you should go to Albany Bowl. You can also take your kids there because its a safe place.

The Beautiful Nature Tilden Park

Thursday on June 10th, 2010 I went to Tilden Park with my classmates and teachers. First we took a bus to downtown Berkeley then we took another bus and reached near the Tilden Park. After that we walked for 10 minutes and reached in the park. It was so beautiful. Only trees and fresh air all around. I felt very happy there because there was no pollution, noices. It was silent and fresh all around. We entered in the park and we drink some water and then we moved forward to see the beauty of the park. It is the one of the most beautiful park in the east bay. Then we entered in a building and there were alot of taxidermy animals. They put those taxidermy animals in glasses. They look real. when I saw those taxidermy animals first I was shocked. I thought why they put them into the glasses but later I realized that they are just taxidermy animals. After that we saw some real animals. There were different sections for different kind of animals. There were Rabbits, cows, goats, sheeps, roosters and hens. We feed them some vegetables. Then our teachers decided to take us in a gound in the park where we can have our lunches. We all sit under the shade and had our lunches. Then I played soccer with with my friends. That park was the example of nature. If you want to get some fresh air and refresh yourself then I preffer that you should go in that park.

The Best Place For Travelers Pier 39.

Yesterday, I went on a field trip in SF. I went with my all classmates and teachers. We went to Pier 39 that is a famous place for traveler. There were a lot of foreign people who come from different countries everyday. First we went to the Bart Station from the school. When we reached in Sf then our teachers gave us 15 minutes to walk around in a park. The divide us into groups and everyone got a partner. We started to walk around and then we met again to our teachers after 15 minutes on the same place. We took some pictures in the park. Then we started to walk to Pier 39 from Pier 20. We walked for 20 Minutes and finally we reached at Pier 39. There were a lot of different people from different countries. There were also different kinds of shops and restaurants. Our teachers gave us one hour to see the Pier 39 and they ask to meet again on the same place after one hour. I went to see shops with my friends and I bought one pen and a fake one million dollar bill. There was all kind of traveling accessories in the shops. It was fun there and I enjoyed it. I will go there again with my friends.

My Trip to UC Berkeley

Today I went to U.C. Berkeley with my classmates and teachers. First we walked to the bus stand and then we took a bus and reached at the U.C. Berkeley. We Explore the university. We saw all the classes and stores in the university. I went to the stores and saw the all accessories. I bought a coffee because I was feeling tired. Then we went to the library and a building of science. I saw the bones of dinosaurs and other animals. Those bones were very old. Then we had our lunch and we have to do our assignment that we got from our teacher. I had to interview two persons about the recycling. I asked questions to two persons and wrote their answers in my journal. After that our teacher decided to take us to an ice cream store. Our teachers bought ice cream for all students. Students were happy by eating ice cream. Then we came back to school and we did our classwork. It was very fun in the trip. I enjoyed my day with my classmates and teachers.

My Trip to Mission District.

Yesterday I went to Mission District to see Mural art.First we went to a store where we can buy all kind of accessories that we use to draw a mural. We saw a lot of pics of different murals and we learn some basic steps how to draw a mural. Then we went to a street with a tour guide. He was a professional mural painter. We went to a street to see murals. There was murals on all walls in that street. The tour guide show us all the murals and he told us about those murals. There was a story in all murals. The murals showed different countries and people. Mission District is a good place in San Francisco. This place have a long history. You can mostly see Latinos there because long time ago Spanish Missionaries came there and they ruled on it. There was a big rush of people. I can hear the voices of people, vehicles, cars and music. That street smells good because there was a lot of restaurant and others shops of food. I taste the Mexican food that called "Taco." It was very tasty and spicy. It tastes like chicken and vegetables. I felt good by going in that street. My Mexican friend told me that its like Mexico in this street. After that we went to a Park. I had my lunch there with my friends and teachers. Then I played soccer with my friends. There was a school San Francisco International High School. We went to that school with our teacher. SFIHS is like OIHS. These schools help international students to learn English and other subjects. We came back in the Bart to our school. I Had fun in that trip. I am never going to forget this trip.

My Trip to the Vietnamese Restaurent

Today, I went to a Vietnamese restaurant. The name of the restaurant was "Pho". This was my first time in Vietnamese restaurant and I was eating Vietnamese food for the first time. First we enter in the restaurant and they gave us menu. I decide to get egg rolls and fried chicken. First we ate is egg rolls. It looks like sticks. Its like one inch long. It smells like fish and it tastes like crunchy and spicy. Another food we ate is Fried Chicken. It looks like chicken wings. It smells like black pepper on it. It tastes good and it was hot and spicy. They had some other drinks and dishes on their menu but I liked the egg rolls and chicken wings. Overall I think this restaurant is good. I will give it 8/10 Stars. I will try to go again in this restaurant with my friends.

I understand that pollution is ruining our environment,

I pretend that I am a good basketball player,

My Environment

I wonder about a clean and green environment in the world,

Introduction

Hi, My name is Hardeep Singh. I am 18 years old. I am from India. I came here to the USA on January 6th, 2009. I am currently a student in Oakland International High School. This is my senior year in the school but I am not going to graduate this year because I need some credit for Math.I live with my parents. I like to play sports after school but my favorite sport is American Football. I use to go to play football almost everyday with my friends. My favorite place to visit in the bay area is San Fransisco. I go to San Fransisco every weekend with my friends. If I would get a chance to go to any country I would love to go to Switzerland because that is a beautiful country in the world. I want to be a police officer so that I can serve people and this country.
